Aspen Mountain ski resort is best known for steep, bumpy runs for the more experienced to enjoy. There are beginner runs on this mountain, but most of the runs are labeled as more difficult, most difficult and expert. The ski resort covers 1,010 acres (409 ha) and has a total of 131 runs with 39 lifts.
Vail Mountain is reputed to have the most extensive high-speed lift system in North America, and is by many considered the country's premier ski destination. The resort covers almost 5,300 skiable acres (2,140 ha) for all levels and has a total of 193 runs serviced by 33 lifts. Vail mountain and town offer a variety of activities, numerous lodging and dining choices and plenty of aprés ski options.
Breckenridge is the oldest and largest Colorado town in high-altitude Summit County. It is located at an elevation of 2,900 m (9,600 feet), making it one of the higher ski resorts in Colorado. Breckenridge boast skiing on four mountain peaks and offers skiing for all abilities and ages. The ski resort covers an area of 2,360 acres (955 ha) and has a total of 152 runs with 28 lifts. Snowboard enthusiasts will appreciate the variety and challenge offered by these peaks.
Beaver Creek is located in Vail Valley, and is known for its unique diversity, exceptional snow quality and an award-winning ski and snowboard school. Beaver Creek regularly hosts World Cup downhill ski competitions, but has runs for anyone from beginner to experts. The ski area covers a total of 1,625 acres (650 ha) serviced by 14 lifts.
Keystone Resort has four different mountains to choose from and two mountain villages to accommodate and entertain visitors. The resort offers 3,148 skiable acres (1,274 ha) serviced by 24 lifts. Three of the mountains are directly accessible from the Keystone Village base area, while the fourth, Arapahoe Basin, is just a 10 minute shuttle ride up Lowland Pass.
Copper Mountain is located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It covers 2,450 skiable acres (985 ha) serviced by 22 lifts. Copper Mountain's ski season runs from November to mid-April.
